Record Simulator
The record simulator is a program that takes a sample and mixes with it 'vinyl' crackle and hiss (caused by static buildup and wearing of the grooves for the inquisitive among you)
The vinyl crackle was created by sampling a test pressing a friend done a few years ago. It was recorded onto tape first them sampled, therefore some tape noise is in there too, but it isn't usually noticable!
Current planned enhancements
- Digital modelling of vinyl crackle, rather than sampled 'real stuff'
- Option to set level of crackle, to decide 'how old 'n' dirty' your 'record' is!
- Modelled 'hum' (to simulate tone-arm feedback)
- Modelled 'tape hiss', for even more lo-fi possibilities!
- Scratching simulation, for those real Hip-Hop vibes!
- Spin-back simulation, for the would-be dance & house DJ's amongst you!
- Deck stop (slow down to stop)
